HERD: A Dinosaur Survival Card Game is a beautifully illustrated semi-cooperative card game with the goal of keeping your herd safe from rapacious predators during the Mesozoic Era. Every player has a Herd card: Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Parasaurolophus, Ankylosaurus, or Brontosaurus. Each turn, Predator, and Prey cards are drawn, and players must fend off the attacks of terrifying monsters before their herd is eliminated! The Countdown Clock ticks down, and if it reaches zero, you’ve won…or, rather, you’ve survived to fight for survival another day. The goal of HERD is to survive until the end of the game, which is played over five turns. There are three types of cards: Herds, Predators, and Prey. Your Herd is your responsibility - sacrificing weaker Prey to survive attacks by Predators. Prey cards represent smaller dinosaur species in the vicinity that can distract a Predator or invoke specially evolved defenses and behaviors to protect the Herd from harm. Whether your Herd survives to the end of the game is dependent upon your tactics, but HERD is also a semi-cooperative game - if you want to have a chance to win, all Herds have to survive! —description from the publisher
